Yoga has changed my life, so I want to pass on this sacred practice and help others improve theirs. I am passionate about connecting people to their inner light and wisdom, appreciating and celebrating their unique and authentic selves.

What made you want to complete your teacher training? Tell us a little bit more about your background.

I had been practising Yoga for over six years, and after a trip to Nepal to meditate with Tibetan nuns and monks, I knew this was my path. Shortly afterwards, I completed my teacher training at Inna Bliss in Brisbane. Next year, I want to further my studies and visit India, where the practice originated.

What kind of experience do you aim to create in your classes?

Finding the connection from mind to body when moving. Always feeling better after class, both mentally and physically. Walking out the studio feeling like I’ve grown 6 inches taller!

What made you want to complete your teacher training? Tell us a little bit more about your background.

Coming from a dancers background, I have always understood the benefits of Pilates as well as having had to include it in previous injuries. Knowing all of the benefits, I developed a love and passion for Pilates, and have never looked back since completing my teacher training.

What kind of experience do you aim to create in your classes?

My aim is always to make everyone feel welcome, challenged, comfortable and strong –  no matter the ability or experience. As well as walking out the studio feeling 6 inches taller.

AMELIA

What do you love about yoga/pilates?

The feeling of peace and awareness I take off my mat into my day. I’m also one of those weirdos who loves the heat, so nothing feels better to me than getting sweaty!

What made you want to complete your teacher training? Tell us a little bit more about your background.

I left the competitive aerials space after seven years following an injury and decided to return to my (at the time) on-again off-again yoga practice to make sense of it all. Yoga has been instrumental in my coming back to my body – building a relationship of trust, compassion, and acceptance within myself. After the transformative experience of YTT I knew I wanted to share the peace I had found within my self, with others.

What kind of experience do you aim to create in your classes?

My dream is for students to walk out of class feeling compassion and respect for their bodies, and a connection to their own innate wisdom.

What do you like to focus on in your classes?

Alignment, intelligent sequencing, and accessibility – options (and challenges!) for everyone. Using asana as a tool to connect with the observer mind.

In one short sentence, how would you describe your teaching style?

Encouragement, respect, and a little humour!

What is your favourite class to teach?

All vinyasa, although alignment yoga (Harlow B) has a special place in my heart.

What are 3 things that make your heart sing?

Walking in the sun, time with people I love, and Vietnamese vermicelli salad bowls.

From the beautiful studio which feels like a day spa, to the sessions which are catered to different styles of yoga/difficulty, you can tell there’s so much care that the instructors and the owner puts into it. Sessions have an emphasis on listening to your body and pushing yourself within your own limits, and the compassionate mantras they end and start sessions with make the whole experience feel like a warm hug. As a fairly private person I also really appreciate the lack of pressure to socialise - you can arrive early and enjoy the relaxing music, aromatherapy, and heat in silence with zero anxiety or judgement. They’re also the first membership I’ve ever belonged to who noticed when I hadn’t attended for a while and offered me free sessions to make up for the classes I’ve missed! This hot yoga has been a lifeline through a lot of quite emotionally challenging times, and cannot recommend it enough to anyone (like me) who wants a form of exercise that they enjoy (and will actually manage to keep going to!)Response from the ownerWe are so happy to be able to be a lifeline for you and we love your beautiful presence in the studio!
