Why Hydration is Important for Your Yoga Practice
If you’re new to yoga and looking for “yoga for beginners near me” or “yoga classes near me for beginners,” then it’s important to know that staying hydrated is a key part of your practice. Dehydration can cause fatigue, dizziness, and other symptoms that can interfere with your ability to focus and enjoy your yoga practice.
But it’s not just physical symptoms that we need to be aware of – as humans, we’re made up of 90% water, which means that our vibrational aspect also needs to be hydrated in order to stay at a high energy. When we’re dehydrated, our vibrational energy can drop, which can lead to feelings of exhaustion, low mood, and lack of motivation.
To avoid dehydration and maintain high energy, we recommend gradually drinking 2 litres of water throughout the day before your yoga class. It can be easy to forget about drinking water when you’re busy, so finding a water bottle that you like using and keeping it close by can help you stay on track. Remember, our body is made up of 90% water, and we lose water just by breathing and thinking.
If you’re doing exercise, it’s even more important to keep sipping water throughout the day. Try treating hydration like a little experiment: note how you feel after a day when you didn’t consume much water, and then journal how you feel at 7am the next day. Keep your water bottle handy and set an alarm five times throughout the day. Sip as you go and note how you feel each time the alarm goes off.
The goal for this experiment is to consume at least 1 litre and preferably up to 2 litres of water per day, depending on if you feel thirsty. We have found that after drinking 1-2 litres per day, we experienced clarity of mind, less anxiety over the little things, and more energy. So next time you’re searching for “beginner yoga near me” or “beginners yoga near me,” make sure to prioritize hydration as part of your practice, for both your physical and vibrational energy.
